The very week I started this blog I inserted a couple of Google ad spots on here. Partly I figured they'd make it look like a real blog. Partly I was curious to see how they worked. Partly – a very tiny partly – I thought that maybe, just maybe, they'd generate enough money to buy me a tool or two.
And now this.
I write nearly 30 entries, almost all of them about RESTORING a CAR called the MUSTANG, or WRITING a BOOK about the CAR, and Google faithfully (and impressively) delivers ads appropriate to my subject. Not that anyone saw them, or clicked on them, but they were, in fact, appropriate ads.
Then I write a single entry about whether I'm in the midst of a midlife crisis, and what shows up the next day?
An ad for "Incontinence Info." From Depend.com.
As if I wasn't feeling old enough already, having turned 50 a year ago. That's just terrific. Thanks for nothing, Google.
I tell you what: As soon as I overcome my rage and humiliation, I'll have another post coming. And you can be darn sure it will be about my CAR – you know, the MUSTANG.
Sheesh.

Incontinence is not shameful -- it's a real problem for millions, most of whom are too embarassed to talk about it. In most instances, it can be cured. Consider your blog advertising as public service as well as income producing. The ads served in no way reflect on you personally.
